Our Trainers and Coaches

Lamberts Castle RC are always looking at our training options and we have a diverse number of trainers and coaches on board with us, each able to teach at all levels.  We want to support you as best we can in this area, so whether your ambitions are just to improve your flatwork so you can enjoy your horse more out hacking, have the confidence to jump your first 70 or 80cm fence or, maybe you have a burning desire to push yourself much further, we will endeavour to help with clinics with knowledgable trainers that can help you along the way.

Here you can get to know some of our more regular trainers and coaches.

Alex BraggAlex Bragg

Alex needs little introduction really.

Now one of GB's most recognised, friendly and supportive event riders, with many podium results at 4* and 5* in Eventing.  Now also competing at BS regularly with his team, his experience and knowledge is readily shared to others.

With his wife Simmone, and their family, they run a very successful and professional business with their horses. Training individuals and clubs is one of his passions and it comes through in his sessions with members.

Isobel Goodwin

Isobel is an exciting young rider from Someset.  Already credited as a BD listed judge and BHS coach, she competes at Inter 2 and is aiming for Grand Prix.  Isobel brings on her own young horses and has regularly took them through to Regionals & Nationals.

Isobel has a great knack of helping you to unleash vital extra marks on your test sheet and giving you some great nuggets of wisdom to work with.

Melissa NorthwoodMelissa Northwood

Melissa is our Polework, Raised Poles & Gridwork guru!

With a knowledgeable background working in large yards, Melissa has trained and ridden to a great level, including Advanced in British Dressage.

She's also been to HOYS as part of the Search for a Star class.  These days Melissa is based at Chard Equestrian with her own horses, is frequently found in the judges box either judging or writing for others and runs classes there and with ourselves and others.

Jane RogersJane Rogers

Long-time LCRC member Jane is an accredited PC instructor who has been teaching for more than 40 years.

Jane competed to Intermediate level in eventing and showjumping up to 1.20m and after returning to competitive riding in the last decade or so, she has an incredible Grassroots Eventing CV having qualified for the Badminton final for the last 8 years.

Her son Tim, is a successful International eventer in his own right  based with Harry Meade, who Jane regularly has lessons with herself.

Gaynor Lomas

Gaynor has been 'on the team' with LCRC for a number or years, both with the club and training some of our individual members privately.

She has competed to Advanced level in British Dressage and Intermediate in eventing, she's also an accredited PC trainer who runs her own livery yard.  You'll often find Gaynor teaching at Pontispool and her direct approach is loved by Pony Club too!

Pam Ewell

Pam is another of our flatwork/polework geniuses.  An accredited BHS coach, Pam has competed up to Advanced level eventing and also Inter 1 & PSG in British Dressage.

Pam loves helping all combinations of riders to improve and with 2 very successful daughters competing a wide range of horses they've brought on themselves, or for others, there's a wealth of wisdom ready to share.

Alongside these regulars, we often bring in additional trainers for special sessions,  such as
